Cawcun is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Dream Land.
Physical Appearance[]
Cawcun is a pelican with big, round eyes. It has wings, each roughly half the size of its body, and a small tail.
Games[]
Kirby's Dream Land[]
Cawcun appears in Bubbly Clouds as the Extra Game equivalent of Puffy. Just like Puffy, it can dive, shoot forward, and fly in certain patterns. It also has the bullet-shooting power just like Puffy, but only in a secret area. Cawcun is more of a threat than its counterpart because it inflicts two points of damage when it makes contact with Kirby.
Kirby Super Star Ultra[]
Cawcun makes a surprise return in Kirby Super Star Ultra in the sub-game Revenge of the King, and is a replacement for Tookey. Cawcuns make their first appearance in the second stage, Illusion Islands, a harder version of Float Islands. Cawcun's attack pattern is virtually unchanged in this game, but it has more vitality and loses the ability to shoot bullets. This enemy is slightly faster than its counterpart, and will occasionally home in on Kirby if it has the chance. Cawcun is not much of a threat on land, but in the air and water, it is a force to be reckoned with.
Etymology[]
Cawcun's name comes from "caw" (カー/かあ kā), the sound some birds make; and "pelican" (ペリカン perikan) the bird it is based on.
