Ethereal Altar is a location in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, serving as the fifth and final level in Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler, succeeding Locandra Dimension. Although Magolor can visit this location after completing the Opening Stage, the Last Stage is unlocked when approached after clearing Locandra Dimension.
General Information[]
After Magolor obtains a Fruit Fragment upon his arrival in the new dimension, he is teleported to the Ethereal Altar, where a torch lights up green and he gains some of his powers back. More torches will light up as Magolor continues to collect the Fruit Fragments until all 5 have been lit.
Last Stage[]
Upon getting all 5 Fruit Fragments, the last torch on the Altar turns orange and the Gem Apple Seed forms. However when Magolor approaches the Altar for the seed, the fragments of the Master Crown corrupt the seed and the Crowned Doomer emerges. After half of the Crowned Doomer's HP is depleted, the Altar is destroyed by the Crowned Doomer, with a single sword falling to the ground. After Magolor defeats the Crowned Doomer, the pieces of the Master Crown merge with the seed to form the Tree Crown without a Ruler and battles Magolor. At the beginning of the fight, a giant red and orange rift paints the sky as fire balls rain down, destroying the remains of the altar in the background as smoke covers the sky. When the Master Crown's HP bar is depleted, Magolor uses the leftover sword, forming his own Ultra Sword to finish it off. As Magolor escapes through a dimensional rift to the Dream Kingdom, the Ethereal Altar appears to have been reduced to rubble. However, in the credits, the altar is shown to be intact.
