Elieel is an enemy that appears in Kirby's Dream Land 2. They hide in pipes, and when inhaled, give no ability. In Kirby's Dream Land 3, one appears in the third stage of Ripple Field. Elieel wants Kirby to guess which jar it is located in, and if Kirby gets it right three times, he will be rewarded with a Heart Star at the end of the level.

Elieel later appears in the sub-game Super NES MG5 along with Pitcher Man, Caramello, Tamasan, and Chef Kawasaki.

Physical Appearance

Elieel has a light underside, a dark top-side, and two light-colored fins that resemble flower petals in shape. Elieel's body is thin at the bottom, but moving upwards, gradually becomes wider until it ends at its elliptical head. Eileel has two circular eyes with pupils, but no other visible facial features.

Games

Kirby's Dream Land 2

Elieel hides in a pipe until Kirby approaches, whereupon it sticks its upper body out to try to catch Kirby walking over the pipe. If it does not successfully hit Kirby, it stays halfway in the pipe for a period of time, flapping its fins and looking at Kirby. Elieel will then either jump out of the pipe completely in another attempt to hit Kirby, or will dive back into the pipe, waiting for another chance.

Etymology

Elieel's name is derived from the word "eel," referring to Elieel's eel-like appearance.

Trivia

  • Elieel has red eyes in its Kirby's Dream Land 2 artwork, though it appears to have black eyes in-game.
  • Its appearance and behavior may be based on garden eels, which are known to poke their heads out from their burrows in the sea floor.
