“ | Press the buttons to make Kirby's mouth open! Try to eat eggs--but not bombs!” |
— Egg Catcher Instruction Screen • Kirby's Adventure |
Egg Catcher is a sub-game in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Adventure.
Games[]
Kirby's Adventure[]
Kirby falls down into Dedede Arena where King Dedede will begin throwing eggs and bombs at him. Kirby must catch the eggs, but not the bombs. The player opens Kirby's mouth by pressing any button, and closes by releasing the button. Depending on how many eggs Kirby catches, he will score bonus points or even extra lives.
This sub-game does not appear in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, being replaced with Kirby's Air Grind.
Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[]
Egg Catcher appears as one of the playable sub-games in Merry Magoland. Due to being able to play as King Dedede, the egg thrower is instead Robo Dedede from Scope Shot (which has been replaced with Booming Blasters in this game). While Kirby and King Dedede catch with their mouths, Meta Knight and Bandana Waddle Dee use baskets to catch the eggs. This sub-game features split-screen to support multiplayer competition.
Related Quotes[]
“ | The object of this game is to skillfully eat the eggs that King Dedede tosses at Kirby! If Kirby eats a bomb, however, that's the end of Kirby and the bonus game! To open Kirby's mouth, press the A Button. To close Kirby's mouth, release the A Button. The number of extra lives rewarded will depend on how many eggs Kirby eats.” |
