This guy is kind of a big deal. He's the solid-gold leader of the Dethskullk gang. Next time you get trapped in a pirate ship, you're probably gonna need to get the key from this guy.
Good luck with that.
— Figurine description • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Games

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

In the stage The Haunted Ship, Kirby must unlock two locked gates before he can escape the Dethskullk pirate ship. Upon opening the first gate, Dethskullk King appears and seizes the key to the second gate. He mostly stays in one area, but if Kirby gets near him and turns away, the enemy will slowly chase him. Dethskullk King can pass through walls in his pursuit but will lose track of Kirby if the hero enters water.

Dethskullk King, like other Dethskullks, is a lethal foe. Kirby will be KO'd if he touches him. Only a Star Dash or the effects of Invincibility Candy can defeat the opponent. Dethskullk King freezes in place when Kirby become invincible.

Etymology

Dethskullk King's name is derived from the words death, skull, and skulk.

Trivia

  • Dethskullk King's behavior is similar to that of Mumbies and some Scarfys and Degouts, as the three enemies don't attack if the player is looking at them.
