Dark Taranza is a counterpart of Taranza and a boss in the Kirby series, debuting in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe. He acts as the first enemy in the Decisive Battlefield's second-to-last mission.

Appearance

Dark Taranza looks similar to his real world counterpart, but he has features reminiscent of Queen Sectonia. His design looks like a spider and hornet mixed together. He has much longer horns and a purple/yellow color scheme. His attire is almost completely different, with an elongated stinger and a much more bee-like design. Upon being smashed apart by King D-Mind, his entire body gains a metallic appearance right before shattering.

Trivia

  • Dark Taranza's entrance animation has him coming out of the Dark Mirror, which seems to be an alternate version of the Dimension Mirror. It is unknown if the two are one and the same, but the similar appearance of Dark Taranza to Queen Sectonia suggest a connection.
  • His theme is a remix of "Taranza, Master of Puppetry", the theme that plays during Taranza's monologue in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, right before the fight against him and King Dedede.
  • Much like his real-world counterpart, he is attacked and defeated by his leader in a single blow after failing to defeat the player.
  • Dark Taranza is the only boss in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe to not feature any sort of second phase. While he technically acts as a palette swap of Taranza, similar enemies such as Parallel Landia still had two phases.
    • The Colossal Waddle Dee and Colossal Kabu are the only other bosses to share this trait, and even then they still had a second phase during the first fight against them.
