Cupie is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. She yields the Cupid ability when inhaled.
She also appears in Kirby: Triple Deluxe as a keychain.
Physical Appearance[]
Cupie is a small, green, angel-like enemy with a small, curved horn, and white wings. She carries a wooden bow, and shoots arrows with her heart-shaped arrowheads.
Games[]
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror[]
Cupies constantly hover in a circular motion. When she is in range, Cupie uses its bow and arrow to try to shoot Kirby. The arrows don't fly very far, are easily dodged, and can be destroyed with a Copy Ability or grabbed using Throw. Additionally, Cupies can only shoot their arrows at a single, preset angle, so they cannot adjust their aim to hit Kirby.
Kirby: Squeak Squad[]
Cupies behave exactly as they do in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror.
Etymology[]
Cupie's name comes from the Roman god of love, Cupid, a mythical figure known for shooting humans with passion-inducing arrows. Cupie's Japanese name, Annie, is derived from the word angel.
Trivia[]
- Pressing the A button while possessing a Cupie with Ghost Kirby will cause the Cupie to fly backwards. This technique enables her to fly in a circular motion while still aiming in one direction. This is also true for Laser Ball.
