Kirby Wiki

Conquer the Inferno Road is the twenty-eighth stage in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the second stage of Redgar Forbidden Lands. It succeeds Enter the Fiery Forbidden Lands and precedes Burning, Churning Power Plant.

General Information[]

Upon entering the stage, Kirby lands at the bottom of a tall spire. He must climb the tower by traversing a spiraling road filled with several enemies, Gigatzos, and small piles of lava. After a small bit of climbing, Kirby can activate a sparkling spot to open a wall and reveal some Star Coins. Past a Sssnacker, Kirby can see a Waddle Dee behind a caged window with no way to reach them. Moving past a bit further, Kirby can enter a broken section of the wall to discover a Switch at the end of a passage. Activating it causes a ladder going down to be revealed, which leads to the Waddle Dee. Proceeding past this leads to a Bomber near a small bridge of Breakable Blocks. A ladder is found right after, taking Kirby to the top roof. However, Kirby may notice a ledge to the right while climbing the ladder; jumping to the ledge reveals a Gotcha Capsule and another ladder. Once he heads up the previous ladder, he will be forced to fight Wild Frosty. After he is defeated, Kirby can ride a Warp Star to the next area.

This area is fairly linear, with a road shown leading straight ahead. Kirby can use a nearby Ice Copy Essence to obtain the Ice ability and skate across some nearby lava to make a jump to a building. After breaking some Lava Blocks in the ceiling, Kirby can fall through and save a Waddle Dee. Kirby can also find a Gotcha Capsule a bit past, located under a grate with a Big Kabu on top. He must then proceed through another lava-filled section, this time featuring meteors, Breakable Blocks, and a Gordo Bar. If Kirby collects all the Star Coins around the Gordo Bar, this spawns a Gotcha Capsule on a nearby rock ledge. Right after this is a patch of ground with a crack, but no way to break it. Kirby can then skate across some Lava Blocks to reach a cone, which he can inhale for the Cone Mouth. A meteor will fall and destroy some of the extinguished Lava Blocks on the return trip, so Kirby will have to jump over a gap without ground pounding the blocks. Destroying the crack reveals a Round-Trip Door. Entering the door immediately spawns a Waddle Dee on a time limit, and to reach them, Kirby must use several Mouthful Modes quickly. He must first use Dome Mouth to reveal a Switch, which creates a path of blocks leading to a storage cabinet, which Kirby must topple to obtain a scissor-list behind the cabinet. The scissor-lift allows Kirby to stretch up and reach the ledge the Waddle Dee is perched at. Once back in the main area, Kirby can climb a ladder behind a Jabhog to reach the Door leading to the next area.

This area is even more linear than the last, being a skinny road surrounded by Shotzos and Gigatzos on Star Blocks. Nearby, Kirby can find a fallen ring from a sign and inhale it for Ring Mouth. After defeating a few enemies, Kirby can blow air onto a Fan, which causes the platform Kirby is standing on to rotate. This allows him to access a path on the left, which leads to another fan. This causes another platform to the right to spin, allowing Kirby to access a path on the right which leads to yet another fan. This fan causes a small island with a Treasure Chest containing a Waddle Dee to emerge in a lava river. Kirby can then look over the ledge of the cliff to see a boat below. After jumping down to it, he can sail through the lava to find several treasures, including a Blue Star Coin on the right. Another fan can also be found by sailing behind the goal platform, which spawns a Gotcha Capsule when activated. After collecting these, Kirby can leave the boat at the base of the goal platform, climb up a ladder, and reach the goal.

Missions[]

Italicized missions are hidden from view on the player's first playthrough.

  • Clear the stage: When Kirby clears the stage for the first time, he will automatically rescue 3 Waddle Dee prisoners from the golden cage.
  • Save the hidden Waddle Dees: 5 Waddle Dee prisoners can be found here, their locations being the following:
    • Behind a window which Kirby can access by finding a nearby passage in a wall.
    • Inside a building in the second area, under some Lava Blocks.
    • In the sub-area atop a high ledge; Scissor-Lift Mouth must be used to reach them.
    • In a small vertical shaft seen right before entering the third area.
    • On a small island in a lava river, spawned by a Fan.
  • Steal 2 of the beasts’ meaty meals: 2 meat-based Food items can be found on small leaves throughout the stage. Their locations are:
    • Near the beginning of the stage, next to two Primal Awoofies.
    • Atop a roof which can be found after climbing a ladder past a Gotcha Capsule on a small ledge.
  • Make all the Windmill Switches spin: If Kirby activates every fan in the last area with Ring Mouth, the mission will be completed.
  • Use Crash to defeat Wild Frosty: Kirby can inhale a Bomber before the Wild Frosty fight, which he can then use to defeat the mid-boss.

Blueprint[]

The Space Ranger Blueprint can be found at the very end of the stage. While standing on the goal platform, Kirby may notice a Flying Target rotating around a rock pillar to the right. Shooting it will cause the Blueprint to appear right in front of the goal. The Blueprint can be used to evolve the Ranger ability at Waddle Dee's Weapons Shop.
