Clay Ball is a large enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby and the Rainbow Curse.

Physical Appearance

Clay Ball is a gray ball with metallic, gray spikes dotting its surface. The enemy has a circular, black face on its front with white, angry-looking eyes. The enemy's face is surrounded by a reddish-purple ring with four points. When the enemy's spikes are retracted, its ring turns blue and its eyes acquire a defeated look rather than an angry one.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

Clay Ball appears exclusively in the stage The Final Battle. When active, it juts out its spikes and slowly floats toward Kirby. After a few seconds, the enemy deactivates, retracting its spikes and slowing down. During this time, Kirby can hit it with a Tap Dash or Star Dash. The attack will cause the enemy to fly forward and ricochet off walls. While the enemy is being launched, it can break obstacles to clear the path ahead. During the game's final boss battle, Claycia sculpts and throws Clay Balls to attack Kirby; the hero must launch them back at her in order to make her vulnerable to further attacks.
