Circuit Speedway is the thirteenth stage in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the second stage of Wondaria Remains. It succeeds Welcome to Wondaria and precedes Invasion at the House of Horrors.
General Information[]
Kirby begins in a small area with a staircase to the right, where several Awoofies are waiting in line behind a Cappy. Once he climbs over the staircase, he will find a car with which he can enter Mouthful Mode. In this form, Kirby can drive up to a checkered starting line, and a timed race will begin. There are several sharp turns, Scarfies, and mud puddles on the course. Once he completes the race, he is rewarded with:
- A food item, if cleared within 1 minute.
- A pile of Star Coins, if cleared within 40 seconds.
- A Waddle Dee, if cleared within 25 seconds.
He can retry the race with a blue Warp Star if he desires a faster record, or continue to the next room.
In this next room, there are several slopes that Kirby can roll his bombs down with the Bomb Copy Ability. Kirby can find a Gotcha Capsule behind several blocks in a wall. Right after, he can hit a switch at the bottom of a moving slope, which opens up a secret area. In the secret area is another Bomb switch puzzle where Kirby must time a bomb throw down 2 moving slopes. Success rewards the second hidden Waddle Dee. There is also an Invincible Candy in a Treasure Chest in this room. Once back in the main area, Kirby can continue past a few Kabus to the next room.
This room has a small staircase for Kirby to run up, leading to a fight with Wild Edge. Wild Edge appears in the center of a circular arena surrounded by a pit where two Runaway Parade Cars constantly drive around. If Kirby is still invincible, he can deal with Wild Edge very quickly. After the fight, there is a small area with several closed shops. Several Rabiroos jump back and forth in front of a door, and a Gotcha Capsule can be found on top of a food truck. Kirby may then continue to the next area.
In this final area, Kirby is back outside and finds another Car Mouth. He can drive up to the start line to initiate the race. This second timed race is much longer than the first one, but there are several places where Kirby can take a shortcut to improve his time. At the beginning, Kirby can ignore a section to the left and jump over the street to the right. There is then a short section where Kirby must drive far to the right and back left, before encountering a circular, spinning platform with three gates at its edges. After the spinner, there are a few ramps with gunk patches, and another tunnel Kirby can skip by going to the left. There are two more spinners seen before a section where Kirby must drive back and forth while going uphill. The last section requires Kirby to drive between many Runaway Parade Cars and gunk patches before making a jump with a ramp. Once he completes the race, Kirby is rewarded with:
- A food item, if cleared within 2 minutes.
- A Gotcha Capsule, if cleared within 1 minute and 30 seconds.
- A Waddle Dee, if cleared within 50 seconds.
Missions[]
Italicized missions are hidden from view on the player' first playthrough.
- Clear the stage: When Kirby clears the stage for the first time, he will automatically rescue 3 Waddle Dee prisoners from the golden cage.
- Save the hidden Waddle Dees: 4 Waddle Dee prisoners can be found here, their locations being the following:
- On the gold podium after clearing the first race within 25 seconds.
- Behind a gate in the secret room; Kirby must hit a switch past 2 moving slopes with a bomb.
- After the Wild Edge fight, hidden in a treasure chest; Kirby can cut grass to reveal a square vent which leads to the room the Waddle Dee is located in.
- On the gold podium after clearing the second race within 50 seconds.
- Reach the first race's goal in under 20 seconds: If Kirby clears the first race in under 20 seconds, he completes the mission. It is reccomended to take the sharpest turns possible.
- Defeat Wild Edge using an Invincible Candy: After rescuing the second Waddle Dee, Kirby can climb a ladder hidden behind the Waddle Dee. An Invincible Candy is located inside a Treasure Chest at the top of a ledge. The player must then hurry to the Wild Edge fight and defeat him with the candy.
- Boost through the cardboard shortcuts: In the stage's second race, Kirby can boost through sections of gates filled in with cardboard boxes to save time. They are located:
- After seeing a patch of gunk in the top of the road.
- Past a pit seen right after the first spinner.
Blueprint[]
The Gigant Sword Blueprint is found in a Treasure Chest that appears after Wild Edge is defeated. The Blueprint can be used to evolve the Sword ability at Waddle Dee's Weapons Shop.
Trivia[]
Before clearing the stage, Kirby can climb tires near the scoreboard and walk on top of the scoreboard. If he interacts with a sparkling spot at the left side, a Blue Star Coin will fall from the sky.
