Kirby games that are in the non-traditional platformer genre. This genre is more difficult to define than the traditional platformer genre, though all the games in it have certain things in common:

  • They are all two-dimensional platformers in which Kirby must battle enemies and reach the goal in each stage.
  • In them, Kirby cannot perform one (or more) of his three staple techniques: walking, floating, and Inhaling. Even if Kirby can perform these three actions, if they are not dictated by button presses, the game is non-traditional.

Non-traditional platformers are a part of the main series. Their events are canonical unless stated otherwise.
