|“||This is what happens when you're a Cotta and you mouth off to Claycia. She turns you into a cannon! Some folks think that's pretty mean of her. But that certainly is a fine-looking cannon, don't you think?”|
|— Figurine description • Kirby and the Rainbow Curse|
Cannon Cotta is a variant of Cotta. The body of the enemy is tan, and the mouth of its cannon is white. The enemy also features red, jagged stripes, as well as a red base. On Cannon Cotta's side is a brown eye that is surrounded by a red ring. The pupil of the eye is white.
Cannon Cotta appears mounted on a floor, wall, or ceiling. When Kirby approaches, the enemy aims at him and fires a cannonball. The cannonballs can be blocked with a rainbow rope. Kirby can defeat the enemy with a Tap Dash or Star Dash. This behavior is similar to that of Shotzo. However, unlike Shotzo, Cannon Cotta is not invincible.
Cannon Cotta's name is derived from the words cannon, a piece of artillery that uses gunpowder or other explosive-based propellants to launch a projectile, and terracotta, which is a type of earthenware used for modeling and decorative purposes.
