Burnises are fiery bird-creatures found in volcanoes and other hot places in the game, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. They attack and move similarly to Frigis. Once Kirby swallows one, he will receive the Burning ability. Kirby will also face a giant Burnis mid-boss in Shiver Star Stage 4, with Magoos for him to suck up and spit out at him.
Attack
Burnises attack by dropping heated rocks at Kirby or diving straight into him. Some will move at a high speed and drop rocks at a fast rate. If a Burnis bumps into a wall, it will plummet to the ground and be defeated.
Etymology
Burnis comes from burn and the sufix "-is" that Burnis and Frigis go by. It could also come from furnace, playing even more upon how it is a hot enemy.
Trivia
- Embird, an enemy from Kirby's Epic Yarn, closely resembles Burnis.
