Attack a bomb block and it will detonate to take out nearby obstacles and create new paths.
— Using Gimmicks • Kirby: Squeak Squad Instruction Booklet

A Bomb Block is a Device in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Adventure.

Physical Appearance[]

Bomb Blocks appear near identical to Star Blocks, but have a black bomb icon on the side instead of a white star.

General Information[]

Bomb Blocks cannot be inhaled, and must be attacked by other means to be destroyed. Once destroyed, the Bomb Block sets off a chain reaction, destroying any ajacent Explosion Blocks; this destruction of blocks can be helpful or hurtful to the player depending on circumstances. Some Bomb Blocks, instead of destroying blocks, create blocks, which also can be used to either help or hinder the player, most notably by blocking off certain optional paths.

Games[]

Kirby's Star Stacker[]

Any Bomb Block(s) between two like Friend Blocks will explode, destroying any other blocks in the row.

Kirby: Canvas Curse[]

Bomb Blocks can only be destroyed by touching them with the stylus, Copy Abilities, or Dedede and Waddle Doo Balls' hammer and beam attacks respectively. In addition to destroying Explosion Blocks, in Paletto Polis, Bomb Blocks can also destroy Explosion Areas.

Kirby Super Star Ultra[]

Some star-shaped projectiles fall down and create Bomb Blocks and Explosion Blocks upon landing. This phenomenon is present in Revenge of the King's The Revenge stage.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe and Kirby: Planet Robobot[]

Bomb Blocks can now destroy Explosion Blocks that are in a different plane.

In the Super Smash Bros. series[]

Bomb Blocks as they appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Bomb Blocks appear on the Green Greens stage. Bomb Blocks can be destroyed by most attacks, and will cause nearby Star Blocks to be destroyed. Unlike in the games, the explosion from the Bomb Blocks is damaging to fighters. Like in Kirby Super Star Ultra, they reappear due to stars falling down to replace them.
