“ | The cavorting creampuff also meets a brooding bomber who turns out to be a nice guy, after all. When his fuse burns down, he blows up blocks that Kirby can't demolish by himself. It's a blast!” |
— Description • Nintendo Power (Volume #83) |
Blasto is an enemy in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Block Ball.
Physical Appearance[]
Blasto is a glaring black ball. It has four rounded bumps sticking out of its body diagonally. It only opens its mouth when Kirby strikes it. Altogether, it bears a strong resemblance to Gordo.
Games[]
Kirby's Block Ball[]
Blasto appears in Stages 6, 9, and 11. It slowly moves back and forth, minding its own business. If Kirby hits it twice, it is defeated and drops a Crash item; this detonates upon contact with Kirby and the resulting explosion melts all nearby Metal Blocks. This is required to clear multiple rounds in the game.
Trivia[]
- Captain Stitch looks extremely similar to Blasto due to the expressions it makes, right down to changing color when it is damaged. The later enemies Blado and Searches also bear a resemblance to it, with the latter even capable of blasts that may be akin to Blasto leaving behind a Crash item.
