“ | This huge mariner shoots a huge cannon. Steal his huge shots and return huge fire!” |
— Cast Description • Kirby's Epic Yarn |
Blast Mariner is a mid-boss in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby's Epic Yarn.
Physical Appearance[]
Blast Mariner appears as a larger Cannon Mariner, and with two shades of blue in his eye instead of one.
Games[]
Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn[]
Blast Mariner appears in the first extra stage of Water Land, Boom Boatyard. Blast Mariner attacks by shooting missiles from the cannon on his head. He will normally shoot three at a time, of which Kirby and Prince Fluff can throw these back at him. Occasionally, Blast Mariner will shoot one giant missile from his cannon which cannot be wrapped up and can also shoot five missiles at a time. The missiles arc down a bit after being fired from his cannon. Kirby and Prince Fluff must throw his missiles back at him three times to defeat him. After his health is depleted, the Blast Mariner's body will explode, dropping beads.
Trivia[]
- Blast Mariner is one of four mid-bosses in Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn from an auto-scrolling stage that does not have a unique battle theme, the other three being Wicked Willow, Combo Cannon, and the Reactor.
- Before Blast Mariner fights Kirby proper, missiles rain down during most of the Boom Boatyard stage. This makes Blast Mariner one of three mid-bosses in the game that attacks before being fought properly, the other two being Space Kracko (who fires Comets) and Kracko (who summons Li'l Krackos).
