|“||Brawl with giant, clanging handbells!”|
|— Kirby Battle Royale - Kirby's 25th Anniversary Copy Ability Poll|
Bell is a Copy Ability introduced in Kirby: Triple Deluxe. It lets Kirby attack with sound waves emitted from twin golden bells. He can also club his foes over the head with them or throw them at far away targets. Bell later reappeared in Kirby Fighters Deluxe as an unlockable ability, accessible by saving StreetPass data from Kirby: Triple Deluxe on the player's 3DS system.
With the Bell ability Kirby wields two yellow hand bells. He can use the bells to club enemies and send out damage-inflicting sound waves. These sound waves become stronger the more Kirby rings his bells. Kirby can also throw the bells, which bounce off of surfaces for a short time before disappearing (they regenerate back in his hands after a short time). Kirby can also perform a special guard where he protects himself by hiding in the bell on his head. When he is attacked while guarding, the bell also automatically sends out sound waves that damage nearby foes. In Kirby Fighters Deluxe, the player's guard must be activated immediately before Kirby is hit to produce this counterattack.
A versatile ability with a huge attack range, the main drawback of Bell is that most of its moves are quite slow and leave Kirby vulnerable while being performed. However, it has the advantage of being one of the few abilities that may be used in the water, along with Sword, Parasol, Hammer, UFO, Master, Spear and Staff.
Bell's Rare Outfit in Kirby Fighters Deluxe is modeled after a Bianzhong bell, an ancient Chinese musical instrument made of bronze. They are known as Hensho in Japanese. The outfit is colored a green hue reflective of the natural patina layer that forms on bronze objects such as Bianzhong. When using this outfit, Bell's attack sound effects are deeper in pitch and somewhat muffled.
|Ring-ding||B||Kirby shakes his bells in front of him, releasing a spherical wave of sound.||None|
|Ring-ding-dong||B repeatedly||Kirby waves around both of his bells to form larger sound waves at a quicker pace. The tone and sound get higher in pitch if he is attacking an enemy with it.||None|
|Ding Finale||↓ + B during Ring-ding-dong||Kirby turns toward the camera and jumps while shaking around both of the bells, releasing sound waves to the left and right of him. The waves bounce off walls.||None|
|Quick Finale||Press and hold ↑, and then ↓ + B||Identical to Ding Finale, though Ring-ding-dong does not have to be performed beforehand.||None|
|Sting-ding||↓ + B||Kirby quickly spins around and springs up while rattling the bells, allowing him to create two large sound waves to his left and right.||None|
|Twin Tinker||Dash + B||Kirby slides across the ground and hurls his bells in front of and behind him. The flung bells travel in an upwards curve and bounce off walls.||None|
|Tinker Melody||Press and hold B, and then release||Kirby turns toward the camera while drawing the bells closer to him, storing energy. Upon release, he extends them out, creating an assortment of bell symbols around him. Unlike the similar Sting-ding, Kirby is completely invincible to attacks while releasing this move.||None|
|Bell Block||L/R||Kirby enlarges the bell on his head and shelters himself inside of it. Enemies who hit the bell will cause it to emit sound waves, damaging them in the process.||None|
|Floating Ring-ding||B while floating on the water's surface||Kirby spins the bells around him like he does with Twin Tinker, but he doesn't shoot any bell projectiles.||None|
|Underwater Twin Ring-ding||B while swimming||The same thing as Floating Ring-ding, but underwater.||None|
|Ring dong, ding dong! It's a golden bell. Shake it, and a strange tone issues forth. Talk about stunning conclusions--get a load of the Ding Finale!|
