Completely invincible, these enormous eels stay inside their dens most of the time. If [[Kirby]] or one of his teammates goes near one, it will try to eat him. If he does get eaten, he will start taking damage. Shaking the Wii Remote up and down rapidly (or mashing the D-pad) will free him. There are two variations of the Barbar. There is a small one and a big one.

Barbar is a large enemy that appears in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby: Triple Deluxe. It is completely invincible.

Physical Appearance

Barbar is a big brown eel. In Kirby's Return to Dream Land, both large and giant sizes exist. In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, only giant ones appear. Barbar looks considerably slimier in this game than it does in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.

Behavior

Completely invincible, these enormous eels stay inside dens and tight corridors most of the time. If Kirby or one of his teammates goes near one, it will try to eat him. If he does get eaten, he will start taking damage. Shaking the Wii Remote rapidly (or mashing the D-pad) will free him. Prizes such as food and Energy Spheres are often found nearby to lure Kirby into a Barbar's trap.

In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Barbar's attack has changed; rather than immediately lunging at Kirby when he approaches, Barbar will slowly wriggle toward him. Some Barbars come out at the hero from the background.

Larger, black Barbars called Iron Barbars appear in Dangerous Dinner, where they live in lava instead of water. Since Kirby can't actually swim in lava, Iron Barbars lunge out of the lava and into the air. A land variety of Barbar known as Land Barbars are introduced in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
