Kirby Wiki

Alivel Mall (Staff Side) is the twenty-fourth stage in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the third stage of Originull Wasteland. It succeeds Searching the Oasis and precedes Moonlight Canyon.

General Information[]

During sunset, Kirby explores a sand-filled Alivel Mall. Upon beginning the stage, Kirby must briefly trek through an abandoned and sand-filled path with several cacti, street lamps, and cars off to the side. After entering through a hole in a window, Kirby can proceed past a few enemies before entering a door that flips the perspective. 2 Spooksteps will also ambush the player here. After defeating them, the player can activate a sparkling spot on the right to create a pile of Star Coins. They can then continue left past more Spooksteps to enter another perspective-flipping doorway. 2 Primal Awoofies will spawn to attack Kirby. He can defeat them and head left to obtain Cone Mouth from a model ice cream cone. Once he continues to the right again, 6 Primal Awoofies will all attack Kirby. Defeating them will allow him to fit into a triangular hole in the wall, breaking the wall and losing the cone. He can continue again through a doorway before being ambushed by 2 Phantas. Kirby may then proceed through another doorway, head to the left, and collect a Gotcha Capsule behind some crates. Destroying a Bomb Block to the right will reveal a ring, which Kirby can inhale to use Ring Mouth. Doing so reveals a trail of Star Coins leading to the previous room, which contains a circular hole in a wall. Defeating the 4 Scarfies before it and entering it breaks the wall and ring, but reveals a Waddle Dee. Moving forward again leads to a rectangular pit filled with spikes with only a few platforms to jump across. A rectangular hole can be found on a wall. After defeating some enemies past that, Kirby can cut a rope, causing a platform to fall, which reveals a vending machine and a teleporter. A Gotcha Capsule can also be found behind some crates. The teleporter takes Kirby back to the main area, where he is immediately surrounded by 6 Mumbies. Kirby can defeat them and continue through a doorway, go left, and enter a small room through a vent. After entering the round-trip door inside, Kirby must fight Wild Bonkers and defeat him for the Hammer ability.

After defeating Wild Bonkers and heading back through the main area, another doorway awaits Kirby, and he can notice a sand dune with a Treasure Chest stuck inside. Nearby, Kirby can notice a clock on the wall. If he breaks some boxes to reveal a doorway and enters, he can hit a Stake on the wall where the clock is on the other side. This knocks down the clock and allows Kirby to inhale it for Ring Mouth, which he can use to blow away sand dunes. One of these contains a Gotcha Capsule, and the dune with the Treasure Chest contains a Waddle Dee. Bringing the Ring Mouth, Kirby should proceed onward and past some enemies to notice a rounded hole in the floor. Even with the Ring Mouth, Kirby is too small for it. However, Kirby can use the ring to break a hole in a wall behind a Jabhog. This contains a water pipe from which Kirby can obtain Water-Balloon Mouth. After dealing with 9 Mumbies that spawn, Kirby can make it back to the hole, enter it, and break open the floor. This reveals several enemies with food items in front of them and a Waddle Dee. Kirby can rescue the Waddle Dee, teleport back to the main floor, and proceed across rotating platforms to reach another ice cream cone. He then can inhale it for Cone Mouth, collect a Gotcha Capsule on a nearby platform, and enter a triangular hole to reveal the goal.

Missions[]

Italicized missions are hidden from view on the player’s first playthrough.

  • Clear the stage: When Kirby clears the stage for the first time, he will automatically rescue 3 Waddle Dee prisoners from the golden cage.
  • Save the hidden Waddle Dees: 5 Waddle Dee prisoners can be found here, their locations being the following:
    • Behind the circular hole in the wall, requiring Ring Mouth Kirby to break through.
    • Behind the rectangular hole in the wall, requiring Vending Mouth Kirby to break through.
    • In the Wild Bonkers room, dropping from the ceiling after he is defeated.
    • In a Treasure Chest inside a sand dune.
    • Under a round hole in the floor, requiring Water-Balloon Mouth to break through.
  • Taste test 3 kinds of ice cream: Kirby can find 3 different ice cream cones throughout the stage and must eat them. They are found:
    • Left of the second perspective-changing doorway, on the table 2 Cappies are sitting at.
    • In the room with the Stake that knocks down the clock.
    • Inside boxes in the second area with a giant ice cream cone.
  • Defeat Wild Bonkers with the Cutter ability: Kirby can inhale a nearby Sir Kibble before entering the fight, which gives him the Cutter ability. He can then defeat Wild Bonkers with it.
  • Fit through all holes using Mouthful Modes: If Kirby breaks every hole in each wall with Mouthful Modes, the mission is completed.

Blueprint[]

The Wild Hammer Blueprint can be found in this stage. After defeating Wild Bonkers, Kirby can use Hammer to pound a few stakes, which opens a gate containing a Treasure Chest. The chest contains the Blueprint. The Blueprint can be used to evolve the Hammer ability at Waddle Dee's Weapons Shop.

Trivia[]

  • The clock found later in the level reads 4:27, which, when written as a date (4/27), is the original Japanese release date for Kirby's Dream Land.
