A 3D Warp Star (spelled 3D Warpstar in Kirby: Triple Deluxe) is an item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
Physical Appearance[]
A 3D Warp Star is a Warp Star constructed of two pieces: a five-pointed star outline and a central core. A yellow core indicates that the star will disappear after its use. An orange core indicates that the star will reappear, allowing the player to use it several times. This is similar to doors, as yellow-star doors are one-way and orange-star doors are round-trip.
Games[]
Kirby: Triple Deluxe and Kirby: Planet Robobot[]
As with a regular Warp Star, a 3D Warp Star takes Kirby, King Dedede, or Meta Knight for a ride when they touch one. These special transports move the hero from one plane to another (from foreground to background or vice versa), something an ordinary Warp Star cannot do. 3D Warp Stars appear many times throughout these games, as they make heavy use of stages with multiple planes.
Kirby Star Allies[]
3D Warp Stars appear on Jambastion's stage hub. Kirby uses them to travel across large gaps or move to higher corridors. This marks the 3D Warp Star's only appearance in a game that does not use Kirby: Triple Deluxe's dual-plane mechanic.
In Guest Star ???? Star Allies Go! when playing as Taranza or Susie, parts of the stages are blocked off by strong gusts of wind which need Cannons to be passed. These Cannons represent 3D Warp Stars since the foreground and background mechanic is absent in Kirby Star Allies.
Trivia[]
- Oddly, the 3D Warp Stars appearing in the Jambastion world map have a yellow star, despite the fact that the ones with orange stars are the ones that reappear.
