The 3D Tilt Missile[1] is an item in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
Physical Appearance[]
The 3D Tilt Missile is a rocket with a red tip, red checkers, and blue fins. The missile launches from a yellow chute connected to a blue station (which is bolted to the ground). Kirby sits on a round red seat and turns a purple wheel to aim the missile.
Games[]
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[]
The 3D Tilt Missile serves as a simple puzzle-solving device. When Kirby jumps onto the seat of the missile's launch station, the player will gain control over how it tilts. The item is gyro-controlled -- tilting the Nintendo 3DS left or right will cause the missile turret's aiming reticle to tilt that direction, and therefore aim the missile that direction. Missile launching stations are loaded with one or three missiles.
When Kirby lands on the station's seat, he cannot jump off until he fires the missile(s). These missiles are fired into the background and can destroy brown blocks. The player will often have to carefully aim his/her missile(s) to destroy all the blocks in a given puzzle.
As with all the gyro-controlled objects in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, the player can reset the gyroscope by tapping a button on the Touch Screen.
Trivia[]
- Notes from the ESRB that explain Kirby: Triple Deluxe’s E rating explicitly mention the 3D Tilt Missile, saying: "In a handful of sequences, players can mount turrets and shoot projectiles at obstacles and boss characters."[2]
