(This is a complete ramble post consisting of only my imagination and shower thoughts)
I played through EEY, and something felt unprofessional about it. I dunno, it was just, weird. I feel like HAL could've done differently (and better)
So here's a list of stuff HAL could've done to make Extra Epic Yarn even more extra epic.
1: Main menu music:
I turned on the game for the first time, and I cracked up when there wasn't any music. Just an eerie silence that made me sort confused. After awhile it didn't make me laugh... it was just, giving me a feeling that the menu was lacking something. Would it have hurt to pull something out of the og soundtrack? I'm guessing the original game didn't have menu music too, but this was just a bad move for HAL.
2: Better Graphics:
I guessss this is alright, but in my eyes, they could've Super Star Ultra'd the graphics. Refresh the models a bit to work better with the 3ds? Most facial expressions in the game look pretty iffy. I CANNOT tell if Fluff is smiling or angry scowling and to me that's an issue. Also background work. The game came out in 2019, that's almost a ten-year difference between the original game and it's re-release. And the backgrounds look old. (AND THE 3D EFFECTS DON'T WORK AHHHHH) The 3ds release made the game lose its soft feel.
(It may also be the type of 3ds you have and that's probably the case)
3: Other Random Gameplay Tweaks:
Playable Prince Fluff. Like dude you have the model so why not? Can't put a little switch in the menu? Can't have it so that Kirby brings you a special item during the level instead?? And is it THAT big of an issue to make a different set of ravel hats? I think not...
Online/ Local co-op. Some features would have to be removed, but this was a missed opportunity.
Able to move a little more in the pads. This speaks for itself. You can't jump up the floor like how Kirby jumps onto the furniture. Or crouch/fall down. Fixable. Maybe this doesn't speak for itself I'm bad at explaining
They needed to have an extra world for Devilish Mode. WHERE did the Devils come from??? SOMEONE TELL ME!
Why isn't Kirby or Fluff in the "cast" collection? Sure they're playable, but they're still... y'know...
More music... the Devilish Mode music isn't there
