XYZ Rule. This rule pretty much says to avoid writing similarities where "X resembles Y from Z" unless the similaries are of course strikingly similar. What you have provided for Ra Moon and SD do not fall under this exception and I'll be glad to explain why as there is so much you can write in an edit summary.
First things first, let me apologize by saying I lost sight of what I wanted to say when I was trying to condense my words to reach the limit; I wasn't trying to shift the topic of similarities to inspiration. What I meant by this is also based on the XYZ Rule where the similarities have to be very similar. Hyness and Zant do have no source of being inspired by one another but their personalities and goals are very similar, and, as I'm about to explain, RM and SD do not share these qualities.
What I explained in my edit summary were not wrong:
*Haltmann did not want to rule the world. I have no idea if you even played Planet Robobot but his goal is to drain each planet he visits of its resources. That is not ruling anything; he is literally destroying the planet. You can't rule a planet if there is no planet to rule in the end. He does colonize planets, but that's only temporary until all the resources have been drained and then he leaves. He does kidnap life forms to mechanize them, but that's to expand his company and fulfill company prosperity which is his goal, not ruling the world unlike Dr. Wily. These are two different motives and that's one similarity down.
*A global threat cannot be compared to a universal scale one. As far as I know from various sources, when RM says it wanted to "destroy all life," it was referring to only Earth as it needed a planet to sustain its own children; it would have no need to destroy every lifeform in the universe to build a society it wants to take care of. SD wanted to destroy every living organism in the universe because it felt like it was necessary for the universe to thrive. These are two very different motives again; the only similarity here is that they both wanted to destroy lifeforms to some degree which is a very general and classic trope when it comes to ancient supercomputers. This trope is not new nor is it very notable. This also applies to that backstabbing clause in the same comparison. Again, this is a common trope. You can find a lot of movies and books about ancient supercomputers wanting to destroy all life due to humanity. Though, I suppose you can also say this is the same for insane hooded cult leaders. Use your best judgment there.
*The fact that both of them died to a character who can copy abilities is irrelevant. You can say this about any Mega Man and Kirby boss.
Based on my own research, I've decided that 3 of the 5 comparisons were embellished and therefore wrong. The only 2 comparisons they share that are spot on are the fact that they are supercomputers from ancient times and that they're able to replicate past bosses with acquired data which is one I really like. Again, there's also the part of wiping lifeforms, but as I've said, that is more of a trope among machines vs humanity.
However, however, I believe that there is still some merit to this comparison, there were just too many loosely-made connections that prompted me to remove the whole thing. Both are alien supercomputers? There are a lot of alien supercomputers in fiction and games. Both want to destroy lifeforms? Common trope. Both founded by a man with nefarious intentions? Literally the plot to any American sci-fi movie about alien tech. Both can recreate enemies from data? Now that's interesting. Keep in mind that I'm just an editor same as you; I've no authority on what can or cannot be added to the wiki for it is a community project after all. All I'm doing is trying to persuade you with my opinion; whether you feel like my reasoning are justifiable or not is up to you. I personally believe you're welcome to re-add the information back, just with a few tweaks and less emphasis on the stuff in the Reddit post since I've found most of that is a little exaggerated, however if you think otherwise, I'd like to hear your reasonings backed with actual, truthful lore as I've done. I may be wrong, who knows? I respect you as an editor so I hope I can hear your insights about this :)
